Between the ages of two and six, children are in a unique period of cognitive development, specifically in regards to the development of language. We surround our students with educational stimuli in both English and Spanish to facilitate dual language acquisition, with the objective of focusing more heavily on the less predominant language of Spanish. Mi Casita students build an understanding of their world as a multi-lingual, diverse place.
By deliberately introduce Spanish though mindful immersion, where we build on students’ natural curiosity, and teach them about linguistic and cultural diversity during their earliest educational experiences. Mi Casita is a safe place for children from bilingual families and for those who want their child to acquire a second language not spoken in their own home.
